New Wheels!

Check out my new set of wheels!
Oh boy, this is fun!

Not only can I sit and ride it, but it adjusts so that I can push it around like a shopping cart to practice my walking.
I'm not real good at the whole walking thing quite yet, so I still need a little help.

Nine Months!

It's hard to believe that Bailey turned nine months just a few days ago. The time has gone by so quickly. Below are a few pictures of her nine month happenings.

No need for the car seat in the shopping cart any longer.
Here is Bailey cruising the aisles of Sam's Club.
No need for a baby bathtub either. "Those are for, well, babies," says Bailey.
"Let me have that. I can give myself a bottle."
We are winding down on the formula, only having about 14-16 ounces a day. Usually a small bottle before each nap and one before bed. Everything else is solids; rice, veggies, fruits, or whatever weird concoction that Gerber can come up with and Mommy decides to buy.
One of Bailey's favorite things to do is to find a magazine and rip it into tiny pieces - a lot of tiny pieces. If I'm not keeping Bailey from eating the pieces, I'm trying to keep Smashy from eating them! Not the funnest game for me, but it does keep her entertained for awhile.
"I'm so innocent looking, aren't I?"
She loves to take two toys and clank them together.
She becomes so proud of herself. This is how I usually find her when I get her in the morning or after a nap; sitting up and playing with her blanky or pacifier and a HUGE grin!
Say Cheese!
Peek-a-Boo! I see you!
And last, but not least, her first tooth popped through last week. I don't have a picture because prying her mouth open and holding her tongue back, while trying to snap a picture usually ends up with a lot of screaming!

Cabo San Lucas 2009

Wow... what a trip.
7 days in Cabo with sunshine, ocean, pool time,
Margaritas, authentic Mexican food...

Pure heaven.

Bailey had an awesome time as well-- she told me so :)
Bailey, Mommy and I enjoyed spending time away from
the daily grind... it was especially nice vacationing with Mor Mor,
Bumpa,Auntie Anna, Uncle Mark, and cousins Gracie and Jack.
Thank you all for making this trip possible.

Here's a pic taken from the balcony of our unit.

Bumpa and Bailey spent a fair amount of time on
the balcony. I think I overheard him teaching Bailey
about salt water fishing on more than one occasion.

Bailey definitely gets the award for being the most relaxed
vacationer on the trip.

Sleeping. Feet-up position is common for Boo Boo.

Bumpa and Boo Boo playing around as usual!

Jack was constantly looking after Bailey. Jack
made a point to make sure all of his newly found
pool friends knew of his cousin Bailey.

Bailey also enjoyed spending time with her cousin Grace;
they're really good friends.

Thank you, Auntie Anna, for taking Bailey on multiple excursions
around the resort!

Mor Mor and Bailey poolside. Bailey did remarkably well by the pool.
We kept her in the shade, well fed, and constantly entertained.

Here are couple shots of the SS Bailey docked in the kiddie-pool.

Bailey loves the water.
Bailey's chub-legs provide an amazing amount of thrust!

Daddy and Cousin Jack-Jack chillin' in the shallows with Boo Boo.

The Arkansan Nielsen Clan

Can you get any more relaxed than Bailey is in this photo?
Looks like a "Life is Good" advertisement :)

Here's Cousin Gracie counting Bailey's rolls.
I think she's nearing double-digits!

Here's Bailey sporting her new sundress Mommy scored
from a street vendor on the Marina boardwalk... for $5!
Nice negotiating Mommy! Let's see if you can do the same for
yourself at Dillards, OK?

Sleeping. Again, so relaxed that she doesn't even notice her sausages
fixed in a raised position! Crazy!

Snack-time for the little sailor. One of these days I
hope she realizes that it's OK to actually ingest those baby-biscuits.

Bailey called "shotgun" for the courtesy cart...
but she was nice enough to let Bumpa share it with her.

Absolute comfort.

Here's the whole gang at Mariscos Mazatlan for some super-fine
fresh seafood dining. Octopus was phenomenal!

Bailey wasn't absent from the above picture, she was just...
well... sleeping, of course!

I ♥ Cabo.

...more photos to come :)

Yippie!

Some of Daddy's new Jeep parts came in today.
I think he's really excited!
...not too sure about Mommy, though.

All Set. Mexico or Bust!

Ok, I think we're all set for our upcoming trip to Cabo:
  • Sun hat? Yep.
  • Sunglasses? Got'em.
  • Sandals? Better believe it.
  • 8 months of love squeezed into a '24 months' swimsuit?
    ...got that too.

Mor Mor and Bumpa's Surprise Visit

For Andy's 30th Birthday, Bailey and I surprised him by having his parents come visit. Andy had no idea they were coming and was shocked when he went down to the basement and saw them sitting there.
Bailey had a great time as well hanging out and playing with Mor Mor and Bumpa. Here are a few pictures of Bailey with them during their visit.

Bumpa, say cheese!
Hmm...I really like that hat Bumpa has on.
Ah yes, it matches my outfit and it looks much better on me.
Don't you think, Bumpa?
Bumpa, I'm getting really tired of watching FOX News Live. Can we watch Baby Einstein instead....Please?
Bumpa and I are great pals.
He fed me bottle at the dinner table, but....
...it's Mor Mor who made Mommy so happy! Why?
Because Mor Mor got me to eat my fruits! Mommy doesn't know what her secret was, but I have been eating my fruits ever since Mor Mor was here. Mommy thanks you, Mor Mor.
Mor Mor and I are great pals too. She makes me smile! We played with my toys together.
While they were here, Bailey hit another milestone. She is officially crawling. No more just scooting around, she is taking off, and she already likes to go after things she isn't supposed to. Mom and Dad are really going to be given a run for their money now!
During one of her naps, we went in to check on her and look what was sticking out - a little chunky leg. Don't worry, she wasn't stuck, just resting it nicely there.
Thank you Mor Mor and Bumpa for making the trek to Northwest Arkansas. We all had a great time. Come back again soon!
